Greece located in the south-eastern part of Europe, on the Balkan peninsula. It is surrounded by sea on three sides: the Aegean Sea to the east, the Ionian Sea to the west and the Cretan Sea to the south. It borders to the north with Albania, North Macedonia, Bulgaria and Turkey.

The country has a very mountainous and rugged territory, with numerous mountain ranges. The most important mountains are the Pindus Mountains, in the north-western part of the country, which culminate with Mount Smolikas at 2,637 meters high. Another significant mountain range is Parnassos, located in the central part of the country.

Numerous valleys and plains extend between the mountains, the most important of which are the Thessaly plain, located north of the Pindus Mountains, and the Boeotian plain, located north of Athens.

The Greek islands located in the Aegean and Ionian Seas, they are divided into several groups, including the Cyclades Islands, the Dodecanese Islands, the Ionian Islands, the Sporades Islands and many others. The most famous islands include Crete, Rhodes, Mykonos, Santorini and Corfu.
